CB2 Dinner - to commemorate the 1956 Uprising. Members contributed to the River Tisza Appeal.

2 Cambridge Post Graduate Students invited to give papers at Szeged University

May 3

Evening of Poetry & Wine, Darwin College. Szeged participated in Cambridge Octocentenary Celebrations and Presented a new city flag for the Guildhall. Due to Jocelyn Charity's connection with the Perse School for Girls, 2 teachers visited and taught at the Karolina school in Szeged. The connection is on-going., with exchange visits in summer 2002 and in 2003.

 

2001 September

Aron Razga, from Szeged Conservatory of Music gave a recital at Emmanuel College, while studying at the Cambridge Academy of English on a bursary.

Death of Esther Harvey, daughter of Sandor & Laura Nagy, the society's first honorary member.

Students from the Liszt Academy in Budapest and London Royal Academy of Music gave a chamber music recital at Emmanuel College. A Szeged student, Sarolt Koczor, visited Cambridge to research her MA thesis on Benjamin Britten

A concert of chamber music in one of Cambridge's best-known colleges, to include Mozart's Duo for Violin & Viola K424 and Brahms' Piano Quartet in G minor Op 25, together with a Haydn Piano Trio and a Concert Etude by Liszt.

Established professional artists from the Cambridge area will be joined by the exciting young Chinese violinist, Chen Xie from the Royal Academy of Music.
